Somphone Vongsa
a river town on the Mekong in Laos
Somphone was abandoned at a gas station as a child and taken in by the kind owner who lived nearby. Growing up in a small town by the Mekong, he gravitated towards the local rodeo, becoming the cherished rodeo clown who watched over young riders on rambunctious water buffalo. Despite his external bravado, he is haunted by his past and retains a deep sensitivity to scents, using them to gauge trust and openness.
