Matías Rojas

a mining camp in the Atacama Desert, Chile

Matías has spent his teenage years in the heart of a desert mining camp, driving a crane amidst piles of rusted metal and dust. He was raised in a small inland village in Chile, accustomed to scarcity but filled with a vivid memory fueled by the meals he's shared. Each day, he balances the heavy mechanics of the junkyard with a dream of offering a better life for his younger sister.
