Manuel Balang lives in a small rice farming village in Banaue, where he splits his time between playing church organ, helping with community irrigation, and worrying about his sister's education. The organ he maintains is as old as the church itself, requiring constant care, just like the village's irrigation channels he also helps manage. Years ago, he drove his car into a lake on a whim, a secret and inexplicable act that haunts his nights, leaving him to occasionally wonder if the rains will be sufficient for the year's harvest.
