Lukáš Novotný
a run-down spa town in the Czech countryside
Lukáš Novotný grew up in the same decaying spa town he still calls home, finding comfort in the routines of his toll booth job and his nightly tape loop. While his friends all moved away, he stayed, finding a certain security in the familiar misery of the place. Obligation binds him to his aging mother and the small acts of care he extends to others around him, while yearning for a life beyond the boundaries of his tiny, stagnant world.
