Khaled Haddad

a refugee settlement outside Amman, Jordan

Khaled works tirelessly in a scrapyard on the outskirts of Amman, finding solace in the rhythmic vibrations resonating through the floor of his humble prefab home. With every creak and clatter of the metal husks he maneuvers, he considers what parts hold value, extracting the worth from what others have discarded. At night, he's preoccupied with debts and obligations, his rest interrupted by the ghostly mechanical echoes of the yard's past inhabitants.
