Earl McCoy

Earl McCoy works as the night auditor at a small, aging motel on the fringes of Hollow Ridge, a forgotten coal town in West Virginia. By necessity, he lives a life of nocturnal solitude, keeping an ear out for the faint, metallic breathing of the building, always aware of the coffins of worries lying in his subconscious. During nights, the smell of an old paperback he keeps close grounds him with memories of past patrons who spoke in smoke-filled hushed tones.
