Daw Mya Hla has spent her entire life working at the floating market village on Inle Lake, a place where commerce depends on the seasonal moods of the water. After his passing, she took comfort in the rhythm of her toll booth duties and developed a strange habit of recording her days with a singular, poignant word each night. Her days are measured by how the sun paints the bodies she sees with impossible hues.
