Atsa Jamir

Atsa Jamir lives in a watchtower above a hilltop village in Nagaland, waking at dawn to scan the ridgelines for the first signs of smoke. From her vantage point, she's become intimately familiar with the rhythms of wind and fire, knowing which ridge will catch first if sparks fly. A recurring dream of an impossible house nestled somewhere unknown pulls at her, creating images she captures in fragments using materials at hand.
