Abdul Hamid

a palm oil plantation village in Sarawak, Borneo

Abdul Hamid has spent his life in a village wrapped by endless rows of palms, a silent observer among the ceaseless industry of the plantation. His small corrugated toll hut sees the comings and goings of life, but his mind is deeply embedded in the worries of providing for his family. In these lulls between responsibilities, he turns to quiet creativity, sketching the movement of shadows, creating art between midnight and dawn when the world is asleep and his mind finds a brief respite.
